Managing Moments Daily

Welcome!

Every individual needs the capacity to manage moments. Managing moments is about being fully present and responding to the opportunities and demands of the situation.

FILL with PEACE is our immersive process for learning how to manage moments.

FILL with PEACE (Family Immersion for Lifelong Learning) focuses on the framework of PEACE as applied to parents, children, and others learning together.

P: Presence: Presence is about being in the moment. Being fully present in the moment helps us manage that moment.

E: Engagement: Presence results in awareness and guides engagement.

A: Activation: Low activation or a calm state makes it easier to observe and respond to the moment.

C: Connection: Presence, engagement, and activation impact connection between participants in a situation.

E: Enjoyment: Together, the first four components create the conditions for enjoyment.

PEACE components and general and can be used to think about guide-learner interactions, peer interactions etc. However, FILL is specifically focused on the application of the PEACE framework to families.

PEACE and Self-regulation

Co-regulation, interoception and self-regulation are three key ideas underlying PEACE.

According to Kelly Mahler, the co-regulation process starts at birth. It is the process that happens when our caregivers help us meet our body’s needs for regulation and survival. Children learn about their interoceptive system or what our inner sensations mean to us through ongoing interactions with their caregivers.

Interoception is the biological foundation of self-regulation. Interoception is the bridge between co-regulation and self-regulation.

FILL with PEACE practice is a practice of co-regulation for developing the capacity of self-regulation. Self-regulation enables us to meet the demands of life and manage moments.

Discovering FILL with PEACE

FILL with PEACE can be implemented anywhere but Tiruvannamalai is the place we experience it the most. We are able to picture FILL with PEACE vividly whether we are at the Ramanasramam, going to temples, doing the girivalam, hiking to Skandashram, or enjoying a meal in one of the cafes! We work on taking the lessons from Tiruvannamalai home!

Our Tiruvannamalai visits serve as retreats where we step away from the demands of daily life. The Ramanasramam experience, the girivalam walk, and other activities make it easy to experience PEACE and reconnect to our rhythms.

Everyone cannot go to a retreat to practice PEACE! Hence, we have designed the 100-Day FILL with PEACE Lab as a structured experience for practicing PEACE daily.

Join the 100-Day Lab and share your experiences with us!
